Google reviews: how to get more without asking awkwardly
Reviews are the single biggest free trust signal you can build. Here's a system that works without ever feeling pushy.
1. Generate a short Google review link from your Business Profile. Shorten it with a free tool so it's easy to type or scan.
2. Ask the same day. Send a friendly text the moment a job is finished or a customer leaves the shop happy — that's when goodwill is highest.
3. Make it specific. "If you've got 30 seconds, would you mind leaving a quick line about how the job went?" beats a generic ask every time.
4. Reply to every review. Thank the good ones by name, and respond to any criticism calmly and publicly — future customers read your replies more than the reviews themselves.
Five new reviews a month adds up to 60 a year. That's usually enough to outrank competitors that have been around for a decade.
